About the Author

Koh Saw Leng, Chartered Accountant and author. Author

Koh Saw Leng is a Chartered Accountant with more than three decades in finance leadership across Malaysia and Singapore.

But her journey with money didn't begin in a boardroom.

She began her career at nineteen without a university degree, studying ACCA at night while working by day, and rose step by step to CFO. Everything she knows about money, leadership and building financial confidence has been shaped by doing it.

She left corporate life carrying one question: what happens to everything I've learned?

Today she answers it through Sawleng.Speaks. Building Wealth Calmly is her first book.

Real money. Real life. Real lessons.

Why I Wrote This Book

A Guide From Experience

This book began from a place I know well.

Nobody taught me about money.

Nobody taught us budgeting.

Nobody taught us investing.

And yet we're expected to navigate some of life's biggest financial decisions on our own.

The truth is, I wasn't born financially confident.

I've made mistakes. I've felt the pressure of not having enough. And I've had to learn, step by step, how to build a stronger relationship with money.

Money shouldn't be a source of fear, shame or conflict. It should be a tool that helps us build a life we want.

And this is why I wrote Building Wealth Calmly.

I wanted to create the book I wish more people had when they first started earning money.

Not another textbook. Not a complicated investment guide.

Just practical money lessons, real-life stories and simple frameworks to help everyday people feel more confident about their finances.

I Don't Want These Lessons To Stay Only With Me.

"Building Wealth Calmly is an accessible and refreshing primer on personal finance for beginners. In a culture fixated on stock picking and instant returns, this book steps back to establish many overlooked fundamentals. It is surprisingly an easy read for concepts that often feel challenging to approach. Managing my finance as I step into work feels far less intimidating now and I only wish I had read this even before my university days."
